The Ferrari driver has no doubts On the eve of the British GP at Silverstone there were many doubts about how the 2026 cars would behave on such an ‘energy-intensive’ track as the Northamptonshire temple of speed. Max Verstappen had already underlined at a press conference in Austria that it would be “another track”. Yesterday’s Sprint was chaotic and full of overtaking. In the first laps the ‘Yo-Yo Formula’ returned forcefully but then towards the end of the Sprint the situation normalized. Our Gianluca Calvaresi spoke of ‘show anesthesia’ regarding the overtaking or presumed overtaking that took place in the Sprint. Lewis Hamilton, however, promoted Silverstone to the wheel of the 2026 F1 cars in a press conference at the end of qualifying. “I think we were all surprised – the words of Lewis Hamilton – it’s really much better than we expected. Driving on this track is always great fun, it’s my favorite circuit.”
