Third row for the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton did not go beyond the sixth fastest time in Qualifying for the Miami GP. The Ferrari driver paid almost two tenths of a second against his boxmate Charles Leclerc and today he will have to try to make a comeback in the GP which will start at 7pm. In the Sprint the seven-time world champion was unable to keep up with his rivals, also losing the comparison with a revived Max Verstappen. We will see if today Hamilton will be able to change gear in the GP in a weekend so far devoid of any sharp moments from the English driver. “We made a lot of changes to the car before the session and the feeling in the cockpit was definitely better, especially in Q2, where we were quite competitive – said Hamilton – in Q3 it was more complicated, I wasn’t able to bring out the maximum performance, and I’m convinced that there was room to do better. I’m really grateful to the whole team for the hard work they’re carrying out, both in introducing the updates and for what they’ve done to keep us going further. It’s a step in the right direction: we need to continue to work together to bring out even more from our car package.”
