Celebrating a Guinness World Record-setting 6,241km drive across Australia’s 10 deserts, the limited Volkswagen Amarok 10 Deserts Edition arrives from $69,990 drive-away** – leading an updated range with greater availability of in-cabin and towing technology, plus sharp drive-away offers.
Further raising Amarok’s elevated market positioning courtesy of a 40mm suspension lift kit, the 300-unit Amarok 10 Deserts Edition offers benchmark ground clearance of 275mm – exceeding that of similar mainstream competitors and cementing this as the attainable ute for the off road enthusiast.
Assisting it to stay rough and ready are Continental ATR Tyres with 17-inch satin black wheels and Volkswagen underbody protection. Additional features include a black sports bar, soft tonneau cover, all-weather floor mats, and a black ‘10 Deserts’ decal spanning the front and rear doors.
Enhanced specification further bolsters the Amarok range for MY25.
Placed in both the rear centre console and inside the rear tub, MY25 Amarok Style, PanAmericana and Aventura variants will also see the introduction of 230V power sockets (Australian plug pattern), backed by an integrated 400W inverter, so owners can plug in travel appliances, laptops and camping lights, and charge battery packs, while on the go.
On the driver assistance front, ‘Trailer Assist’ will now become standard on Style, PanAmericana and Aventura models, making reversing and hitching trailers (up to 3,500kg braked) completely intuitive and hassle free. Rear Traffic Alert has also been updated to ensure it works seamlessly with ‘Trailer Assist’.
Further enhancing the flexibility of the Volkswagen ute range, Aussie tradespeople are now provided a turn-key solution with the cab chassis, thanks to new ‘Tray’ variants of Amarok Core, Life and Style.
The standardised alloy tray on ‘Core Tray’, ‘Life Tray’ and ‘Style Tray’ measures a generous 1,900mm in external width, 1,835mm in internal width, 1,650mm in internal length and weighs 132kg. Additionally, the alloy tray can be purchased as a dealer-fitted accessory on any Amarok model.
For customers requiring a tray with additional strength, a similarly-dimensioned steel tray, weighing in at 243kg, is available as a dealer-fit accessory.
While the MY25 updates make Amarok the most comprehensive package it has ever been, sharp drive-away pricing across the range and a more accessible turbo petrol Aventura TSI452 ensures value and an elevated, dynamic drive can combine.
National drive-away pricing on the Amarok kicks off at a compelling $55,990** for the Core TDI405, moving to $61,990** for the Life TDI500, and $72,740** and $76,740** for the Style TDI500 and TDI600 variants respectively.
Rounding out the Amarok range is the PanAmericana TDI600 at $79,990**, while the range-topping Aventura now has drive-away pricing that matches its RRP: $79,990** for the repositioned, superbly dynamic Aventura TSI452 and $82,990** for the Aventura TDI600.
For exterior paint options, the elegant ‘Reed Green Metallic’ paint replaces ‘Mid Blue Metallic’.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Product Manager, Michael Cenci, described how the 10 Deserts Edition honours its Guinness World Record-setting origins.
“With the 10 Deserts Edition, the refinement of the Amarok has been given a tougher edge, offering genuine off-road ability and benchmark ground clearance, while still being a premium-appointed ute that drivers want to be in,” Mr Cenci said.
“All while being available to park in your driveway for less than $70,000.”
