Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) has appointed Jerome Figuiere as Brand Director of CUPRA Australia, confirming his permanent appointment after six months in an acting capacity.
Figuiere has led CUPRA through a period of significant model renewal and network expansion during his interim role, including the recent launch of the CUPRA Terramar medium SUV.
The appointment continues Figuiere’s 18-year tenure within the Volkswagen Group, where he previously served as Aftersales Director for Audi Australia and Head of Group Network Development across a decade, following an earlier role as Business Quality Manager.
His experience spans key stakeholder engagement, operations management and strategic development within the Australian automotive market.
Key achievements during Figuiere’s time with VGA include integrating dealer network development teams from all brands into a unified department, creating synergies between brands while maintaining individual brand identity, and implementing business strategies to enhance overall company performance.
VGA Managing Director Karsten Seifert said Figuiere’s multi-faceted leadership experience and proven results made him the ideal candidate to lead CUPRA’s continued growth in Australia.
“Jerome has over the past six months successfully led CUPRA through several new model launches and as the network continues to expand across the country,” Seifert said.
“We are pleased to announce that Jerome as the permanent Brand Director for CUPRA in Australia as it continues its new model renewal and further success in this market.”
VGA also acknowledged CUPRA Regional Manager Laura Sáez Prieto for her contribution to the joint leadership of the brand over the past five months alongside Figuiere.
The appointment comes as CUPRA continues to establish its presence in the Australian market through new model introductions and dealer network expansion.
