Online auction platform Collecting Cars has recorded its strongest sales month of the year in Australia, passing 1,000 sold lots year-to-date and lifting its 2025 Australasian performance 44% compared with the same point last year.

The platform generated close to AU$7 million (NZ$8m) in sales from 87 lots during November, up 28% on November 2024.

“Collector car sales in Australia and New Zealand remain strong, even with Christmas approaching,” Collecting Cars head of APAC Lee Hallett says.

“A number of fascinating consignments are heading our way for December so keep an eye on collectingcars.com.

“Also, we’re signing off 2025 with our final Coffee Run car show event for the year, which will be held at the Auckland Showgrounds this Sunday, 7 December. Entry is free for everyone so come along if you’re in town.”

The company’s November highlights included a 2023 Aston Martin DBX 707 that sold for AU$300,000, a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback ‘Eleanor’ at AU$295,000, a 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Club Sport at AU$288,500, and a 1998 Subaru Impreza STI 22B also at AU$288,500.

Collecting Cars describes itself as a 24/7 online auction platform with no seller fees, with sellers retaining the vehicle until collection by the buyer. Since launch it has sold more than 20,000 lots worldwide, generating more than US$1.2 billion (AU$1.8 billion) in sales.

The company operates from headquarters in the United Kingdom with offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Europe and a partner in the United Arab Emirates. It has more than 300,000 registered members across more than 100 countries. Porsche is its best-selling marque, with more than 2,800 cars sold, including over 3,000 examples of the 911 from every generation since the 1960s.

Collecting Cars says more than 95% of its sales are completed without a physical viewing.
