Mercedes goes on the counterattack and introduces the first package of updates from the Bahrain tests in Montreal. McLaren, however, does not remain idle, bringing to the debut the second part of the developments that the team had planned for the North American races. No news however for Ferrari, which had already anticipated the changes in Miami, while Red Bull made some changes to the RB22. The work of the top teams Mercedes does not disappoint expectations, presenting itself in Montreal with a deeply revised W17. The Brackley team has declared changes to the external area of the front wing, in particular to the endplate and footplate elements. The brake ducts have also changed, enlarged to cope with the large workload for the system on the Canadian circuit. The most important innovations, however, concern the bottom, such as the aerodynamic elements in the most advanced side part and the carvings in front of the rear wheels. Great work was also carried out on the rear axle, where changes were made to the bulkheads and the diffuser ramp, as well as to the aerodynamic appendages of the rear wheel units. McLaren tries to keep up with the Silver Arrows by introducing a new front wing. The bodywork of the MCL40 also features new cooling options, while the bottom appendages change. The Woking team also took inspiration from Ferrari, fitting a small fin on the central support of the halo. Finally, we highlight the new endplates of the rear wing and the fairings of the rear suspension arms. For the rest, the Milton Kynes team introduces simple adaptations to the next tracks on the calendar, including a larger exit section for the front brake ducts and new mobile profiles for the front wing, designed to adapt the aerodynamic balance to the upcoming circuits. Ferrari, however, returns in the same configuration as in Miami, having brought forward the changes initially planned for Canada to the previous race. Haas reaction Moving on to the center of the group, Haas undoubtedly takes the spotlight. The technical department coordinated by Andrea De Zordo has produced a new bodywork, redesigning the bellies and the mouths of the side radiators. In parallel, updates to the bottom, the surrounding elements, the fairings of the rear suspension arms and the flaps of the rear wheel units make their debut. The Racing Bulls tries to keep up with it, also equipped with a new floor, new elements of the rear wheel units and a new beam wing. Furthermore, the Scuderia di Faenza has created its own version of Ferrari’s FTM, fitting a flap at the exit of the exhaust terminal. Photo by Mark Thompson/Getty Images The bottom and all associated elements also change on the Alpine, which is also equipped with a new rear wing. Audi, however, worked on the diffuser and created new cooling ducts for the front and rear brakes, which were necessary on a particularly severe track for the system such as Canada. Williams had already introduced a large package in Miami, which is why the changes in Montreal are limited to the front suspension arm fairings, the front brake cooling ducts and the exhaust terminal flap, which has evolved compared to the initial version. Finally, Cadillac has retouched the diffuser appendages and the front brake ducts, while Aston Martin continues to be completely orphaned of updates.
