The KTM rider ‘enjoys it’
“My leadership didn’t last a day like Marc Marquez said.” In this sentence of Pedro Acosta reported by the Spanish newspaper AS there is all the present, but also the future of MotoGP. Pedro Acosta and Marc Marquez, in fact, will be team mates in the official Ducati team in 2027, a true dream team between two compatriots who have already put on a show in Thailand with overtaking.
The confrontation on the track in 2026 between Marc Marquez and Acosta will be a sort of appetizer for the derby coming in 2027 when the two will race on equal terms: “I won and anyone who says otherwise has never seen a motorcycle race – Acosta’s words regarding the success achieved in the Sprint – in the end I was the one who crossed the finish line first. Point. Nobody gave me anything.”
While waiting for 2027, Acosta is nevertheless ready to ‘enjoy’ a 2026 in which he races with a clear mind and without particular pressures or ‘anxieties’ from the driver market: “I see myself as calmer than last year and we must continue like this. The tire management, which was a disaster last year, was quite good, as was the management inside the garage, because we are faster and I don’t spend so much time inside, so we have to be happy for these little things.”
