What the Colombian said
There F1 is ready to open the curtain on the 2026 World Championship and in Australia we will actually find out how much Mercedes hid in testing and whether Ferrari can really return to dreaming of winning a World title that has been missing for practically 20 years now.
Charles Leclerc was the fastest in testing in Bahrain and the Ferrari among the various tricks up its sleeve it also has the ‘Macarena’ rear wing just glimpsed in Sakhir for a few laps. However, among professionals across the Channel and beyond there is a certain skepticism towards the real competitiveness of the Ferrari SF-26 and Juan Pablo Montoya is no exception.
“Ferrari will not be competitive, it is difficult to imagine that happening – said the former Colombian pilot reached by Vision4Sport – every year it’s the same story, it’s hard to believe they’ll be able to put it all together I just can’t imagine. I would like to be able to say yes, because I would like to see Lewis Hamilton become world champion with Ferrari. I think it would be great. But it’s hard to believe that they will actually succeed. George Russell will win the World Championship and Mercedes will win the Constructors’ title.”
