· Diogo Moreira (Kalex) won the Moto2 race of the Austrian Grand Prix. The Brazilian rider started from second on the grid and rode a solo race, until he secured his second win of the season in the class with a gap of two seconds. Behind him were Daniel Holgado (Kalex), second, and Celestino Vietti (Boscoscuro), third. All the riders used Pirelli soft SC1 at the front and development supersoft in E0126 specification at the rear.
· The combination with the SC2 medium front and SC1 soft rear proved to be the most effective for the Moto3 race, used by the top three finishers, who battled until the last corner. Angel Piqueras (KTM) took first place, ahead of Ryusei Yamanaka, who finished second, and David Muñoz, third after a comeback from fourteenth on the grid, both also on KTM. The soft SC1 rear was chosen by all the riders, while for the front the riders were almost equally divided between the two options. Among those who preferred the SC1, the rider with the best finishing position was Taiyo Furusato (Honda), in sixth place.
· Faster races. The total duration of the Moto3 has been lowered by 4 seconds compared to 2024, for an average improvement per lap of 2 tenths. In Moto2, Moreira completed the 23 laps in 36:05.205, more than 17 seconds faster than last year’s race, equivalent to an average gain per lap of 7 and a half tenths.
· New lap records in the race. On the thirteenth lap of the Moto3 race, Taiyo Furusato (Honda) set a time of 1:40.048, which improves by four hundredths of a second the race lap record held by Joel Kelso since 2024. In Moto2, the record now belongs to David Alonso (Kalex), who on his seventh lap lowered Celestino Vietti’s previous record from 2022 by more than half a second, stopping the clock at 1:33.549.
