D’s first pickup challenges the diesel dominance in the European light commercial segment with its 436 PS hybrid powertrain. D announces UK price of Shark, its first pickup truck; Orders are now open and deliveries begin in September 2026. Starting at £47,290 ($62,900) including VAT, the Shark is available in a single trim level and uses the D’s Super Hybrid dual-mode off-road (DMO) powertrain; 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with dual electric motors. Combined system output is rated at 436 PS and 650 N·m of torque, achieving 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds. The 32.2 kWh Blade Battery lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit provides a pure electric range of 55.9 miles according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) and provides a total range of 400 miles on a full charge and fuel tank. Weighted fuel consumption is rated at 80.7 mpg. D says the Shark’s battery capacity is almost three times that of its only plug-in hybrid pickup rival currently sold in Europe. The five-seat double-cab body has a length of 5,457 mm on a wheelbase of 3,260 mm. Towing capacity reaches 2,500 kg and payload capacity up to 790 kg. The Vehicle to Load (V2L) system provides up to 6.6 kW of power via two sockets accessible from the charging port or a dedicated load bed socket. Standard equipment includes a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system. D Executive Vice President Stella Li said the Shark was designed to bring “pure electric capability, the most power in its class, excellent off-road capability, exceptional efficiency and long-distance flexibility” to a segment where demand for plug-in hybrids is “rapidly expanding” across Europe.
