Citroen Racing revealed the new color identity of its next-generation GEN4 race car and its strengthened racing organization ahead of Season 13, which promises new excitement in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Preparing for its second season in Formula E, the French brand aims to compete at the front of the grid in the GEN4 era, leveraging a performance that reaches up to 815 HP, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds, and achieves a top speed of over 335 km/h. Furthermore, Beth Paretta takes on the role of Team Principal in addition to her position as Managing Director at Citroen Racing, while Frederic Espinos joins the team as Racing Director and Deputy Team Principal. Thus, Citroen Racing, which drew attention with its strong performance last season, raises its ambitions for the new season even further. Citroen Racing is preparing for a new era with the next-generation GEN4 in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, one of the world’s leading electric motorsport organizations. Finishing fifth in the Teams’ Championship in its debut season with one race victory, multiple podium finishes, and one pole position, Citroen Racing announced the new color identity of the GEN4 race car that will take to the track in Season 13, alongside the team’s newly restructured racing organization. Having caught attention with its strong performance last season, the team now aims to carry this momentum forward and involve itself more strongly in the fight for the top spot in Formula E during the GEN4 era.

Citroen’s racing DNA is reshaped with GEN4
Citroen Racing carries its visual identity, featuring prominent blue, white, and red colors from its first season in Formula E, into the GEN4 era. The brand’s characteristic V-shaped graphic structure is preserved in the new design while being transformed into a more fluid form to harmonize with the car’s more dynamic lines. The blue color, used more intensely particularly on the front section of the car, gives the GEN4 a powerful and dynamic appearance that is easily recognizable on the track. Thus, Citroen’s character on racing tracks comes to life again with the bolder and more energetic structure of the next-generation car. Prepared by the teams that develop the design of Citroen’s mass-production models, the new race car design also strengthens the bond between the brand’s road cars and motorsports. More metallic surfaces allow the car to gain a more vibrant appearance under the light, while the parametric use of the V pattern creates fluid transitions between different color shades. The resulting design stands out as a striking signature that brings Citroen’s innovative design approach to racing tracks. Citroen Design Director Pierre Leclercq states that while developing the new color identity, they aimed to preserve the strong character created last season and blend it with the more dynamic structure of the GEN4.
Design meets performance During the development process of the GEN4, weight optimization plays an important role alongside visual design. Aiming to reduce the weight of the livery used on the race car as much as possible, Citroen Racing creates color transitions without needing multiple layers, thanks to the parametric V pattern. Thus, the design of the car brings Citroen’s characteristic identity together with innovation, efficiency, and performance at the same point. The GEN4, where every detail contributes to performance, also demonstrates that design is not just about appearance.

Performance levels are carried to a new dimension with the next-generation Formula E cars. Citroen Racing GEN4 produces 450 kW of power under racing conditions, while it can reach up to 600 kW, or in other words 815 HP, during qualifying sessions and Attack Mode. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of over 335 km/h. Featuring a 700 kW energy recovery capacity, the GEN4 takes to the track with a continuous four-wheel-drive system as well as two different aerodynamic modes: High Downforce and Low Downforce. These values reveal how speed, electric power, and efficiency meet at a new level in Formula E.
