OPmobility reaffirms its commitment to the USA. The French equipment manufacturer announced the upcoming construction of a factory for vehicle exterior components, including bumpers, grilles and trunk lids, on June 2, 2026.
This future establishment is located in Toledo, Ohio. It’s a choice that’s not inconsequential since it’s America’s industrial bastion. The region actually concentrates more than 40% of national automobile production. OPmobility sees the possibility of reducing its environmental footprint, especially by shortening its logistics routes.
Twelfth Plate Factory
OPmobility management is counting on the creation of more than 500 jobs in the areas of production, logistics, engineering and support functions. The equipment manufacturer will also use its latest solutions in terms of automation and digital production “to optimize production flows, traceability and overall operational excellence.”
Construction of this twelfth OPmobility factory in the United States will take place shortly after the opening of the group’s new North American headquarters in Troy (Michigan) in October 2025. “These steps confirm our ambition to grow in the region and the United States and contribute to our geographical diversification strategy,” commented Félicie Burelle, managing director of OPmobility.
To date, the French equipment manufacturer has eleven factories and six R&D centers in Uncle Sam’s country. OPmobility employs around 3,300 people here and aims to double its local sales by 2030. In the last report, the United States-based subsidiary reported a turnover of €1.767 billion, a 3.1% decrease in absolute amount but a 1.2% increase in fixed scope.
