Red Bull optimistic for Montreal The package of updates brought by Red Bull to Miami has allowed the Milton Keynes team to break away from the center of the group and get closer to the top. Especially on the flying lap, Max Verstappen showed off excellent speed, qualifying on the front row for the GP. And, without that spin on Turn 2, the Dutch champion could have had his say for the podium, after a very complicated start to the season, spent in positions of absolute mediocrity for a driver of his talent. Now comes Montreal, a track that could meet the characteristics of a very fast RB22 on the straight and which can still extract potential from the Miami updates. Red Bull technical director Pierre Waché believes so, and can’t wait to put the first developments to the test on a complete track like the Canadian one. Waché’s words “In Miami we took a clear step forward: the package of updates led to encouraging improvements in terms of performance and contributed to resolving some key aspects of the car. It highlighted some weak points of the car and the margins for improvement to optimize overall performance”, these are the words of the Frenchman. “Canada will be another good test for the package, along with some small updates planned for this weekend. It’s been a positive boost for the team to see the progress translate to the track after so much hard work behind the scenes, and we expect the development of the car to progress as we get closer to the European races.” Hadjar’s words “Ever since Miami, I couldn’t wait to get back in the car and race again,” commented Isack Hadjar, who wants to redeem himself after the mistake that cost him a zero in Florida. “The team provided a much more competitive package after the break and we want to continue on this path ahead of Montreal. It’s another Sprint weekend, there are plenty of opportunities to do well and score points.”
