Turkish mobility technology brand Togg has signed a strategic partnership agreement with CAIT, a subsidiary of global battery giant CATL, to develop a new shared platform for its upcoming B-segment electric vehicle family.
Under the collaboration, CAIT will provide the core platform technology, while Togg will play a leading role in user experience, product requirements, and digital architecture development. The partnership marks another step in Togg’s strategy to position itself not only as a car manufacturer, but as a broader smart mobility ecosystem.
Rather than adopting a ready-made platform, Togg will actively contribute to the engineering and development process, shaping the platform according to its own product vision and user expectations.
Three new electric models planned
The cooperation will combine CAIT’s Bedrock Chassis technology with Togg’s vehicle development capabilities to support the creation of next-generation electric vehicles tailored for the Turkish market.
The companies aim to launch three new models gradually from mid-2027 onwards.
“We are building an ecosystem, not just vehicles”
Togg Chairman Fuat Tosyalı said the company views mobility as a comprehensive technology ecosystem that extends beyond automobile production.
According to Tosyalı, the partnership reflects a strategic collaboration model rather than a conventional supplier relationship. He noted that Togg’s direct involvement in the development process will help the company deliver solutions more closely aligned with customer expectations while contributing to the growth of Türkiye’s mobility ecosystem.
Tosyalı also stated that Togg plans to continue expanding its product range and user experience across different vehicle segments through similar partnerships.
CATL highlights global growth potential
CATL Chairman Robin Zeng described the partnership as a significant milestone for the global expansion of the Bedrock Chassis platform following its mass production rollout in China.
Zeng said the collaboration would serve as a benchmark project in integrated intelligent chassis technologies, helping accelerate electrification and supporting the transition towards low-carbon mobility in emerging markets.
