F1 escapes storms A few hours after the end of qualifying, F1 decided to bring forward the start of the Miami Grand Prix by three hours, to try to escape the heavy rainfall forecast which had been indicated as very likely for 4pm local time. We will therefore start at 1pm in Miami, 7pm in Italy, but the weatherman observes a 40% possibility of precipitation at the start, which rises to 60% during the race. Vasseur stings his rivals Speaking to Dazn Spain, Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur launched a dig at the rest of the grid: “Some tried the Pirelli wet tyres, while others didn’t want to do it in Barcelona. They had the possibility to choose and they chose not to”. Vasseur’s reference is to last January 27, on Day 2 of the first tests in Barcelona, when in the rain only the Ferrari (121 laps) and the Red took to the track Bull (78 laps), with the other 9 teams remaining in the pits. On Spanish television, Vasseur also allowed himself a joke regarding the solution chosen by Red Bull for the rear wing: “The Macarena? They should perhaps pay us something for using the name (laughs, ed.). I’ll talk about it with Laurent Mekies. In the end we’re all focused on the development, we take photos of the other cars and try to learn. That’s life.”
