Lance Stroll on fire Probably on Thursday in Miami the most critical voice towards the Formula 1 regulations, despite the changes made in April, was that of Lance Stroll. The Aston Martin driver expressed all his frustration towards the new generation of single-seaters, comparing it with those of the early 2000s, but also with the F3s – which he did not hesitate to define as “more fun” than the current F1s. One of his statements, among many yesterday, is worth highlighting because it concerns the interviews granted by his fellow drivers in recent weeks: “If in two or three years I’m on the sofa looking at two green cars (the Aston Martins, ed.) in front of everyone and I’m not there, it will bother me. I therefore hope to be there and that in the meantime the cars become better and more fun to drive. All the drivers would like this, not just me. It’s just that some can say it, while others can’t, due to contracts and things like that.” Domenicali’s appeal In recent days, in the long interview granted to The Race, the president of F1 Stefano Domenicali had spoken about the criticism of the regulations: “I’m not the type who uses the microphone to talk about things that need to be improved, because I think it’s wrong. I think that the right way to do things is like in a good family, where we scream inside the house and not outside, because it makes no sense and is of no use. If there are things that I think need to be changed, you will never see me use this microphone or you journalists as spokespersons for what I think needs to be improved”, and again: “I think there has been too much attention on the critical comments of certain drivers. But we have learned, this kind of thing should have been handled differently so that they don’t have to talk, but because there are also many positive elements”.
