Production Grew by 4 Percent and Exports by 5 Percent in the First 11 Months of the Year!
Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced the data for the first 11 months of 2025. Total production increased by 4 percent compared to the same period last year and reached 1 million 295 thousand 31 units. Automobile production, which decreased by 3 percent compared to the first 11 months of last year, reached 796 thousand 276 units. Total production, including tractor production, was 1 million 320 thousand 119 units. In the commercial vehicle group, production increased by 19 percent in the first 11 months of the year, by 21 percent in the light commercial vehicle group, and by 1 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group. Compared to the first 11 months of 2024, the commercial vehicle market increased by 5 percent and the light commercial vehicle market increased by 7 percent, while the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased by 4 percent. In the first 11 months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year, total automotive exports increased by 5 percent in terms of units, while automobile exports decreased by 8 percent. During this period, total exports were 960 thousand 989 units and automobile exports were 546 thousand 435 units. In the January-November period of 2025, the total market closed at 1 million 215 thousand 876 units, increasing by 10 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. During this period, the automobile market also increased by 11 percent and reached 938 thousand 177 units.
Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), which is the umbrella organization of the sector with its 13 members guiding the Turkish automotive industry, announced the production and export figures and market data for the January-November period of 2025. Accordingly, in the first 11 months of the year, total automotive production increased by 4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 million 295 thousand 31 units. Automobile production decreased by 3 percent to 796 thousand 276 units. Total production, including tractor production, reached 1 million 320 thousand 119 units. In the first 11 months of the year, production in the commercial vehicle group increased by 19 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, by 21 percent in the light commercial vehicle group, and by 1 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group. During this period, the capacity utilization rate of the automotive industry was 66 percent. Capacity utilization rates on a vehicle group basis were 68 percent in light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 57 percent in the truck group, 67 percent in the bus-midibus group and 37 percent in the tractor.
Exports entered the last month of the year with 37 billion dollars!
In the first 11 months of the year, automotive exports increased by 5 percent in terms of units compared to the same period last year, reaching 960 thousand 989 units. During this period, automobile exports decreased by 8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 30 percent. Tractor exports decreased by 16 percent compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 10 thousand 377 units. According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, total automotive industry exports maintained its leadership in the sectoral export rankings with 18 percent in the first 11 months of 2025. According to Uludağ Exporters’ Association (UIB) data, total automotive exports in the first 11-month period amounted to 37 billion dollars. In the same period, automobile exports increased by 6 percent and reached 10.6 billion dollars. During this period, main industry exports increased by 15 percent and supply industry exports increased by 6 percent in dollar terms.
The market exceeded 1.2 million units in the first 11 months!
In the first 11 months of 2025, the total market increased by 10 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1 million 215 thousand 876 units. During this period, the automobile market also increased by 11 percent and reached 938 thousand 177 units. Looking at the commercial vehicle market, in the first 11 months of the year, while the total commercial vehicle market grew by 5 percent and the light commercial vehicle market grew by 7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, there was a 4 percent decline in the heavy commercial vehicle market. In the January-October period of 2025, the share of domestic vehicles in automobile sales was 30 percent, and the share of domestic vehicles in the light commercial vehicle market was 21 percent.
