Nissan announced that Tomohiko Yao has been appointed as Nissan Türkiye General Manager as of June 1, 2026.
Yao replaces Charbel Abi Ghanem, who has successfully served as Nissan Türkiye General Manager for the last four years. Ghanem will continue his career within Nissan as General Manager of Nissan France.
Tomohiko Yao joined Nissan in 1998 and held various leadership roles in sales, marketing, corporate strategy and business development in Asia, North America and China. He also held senior strategy and planning roles across Nissan’s Asia Pacific, China and global headquarters, leading company-wide growth and business transformation initiatives.
Before his new position in Türkiye, Yao served as the Chief Performance Officer’s Private Secretary and Department General Manager. In this context, he led Nissan’s global Re:Nissan topline strategies and revenue performance studies.
Tomohiko Yao said the following about his new position: “I am very honored to take on this position. I believe in the strong potential that Türkiye has and Nissan’s position in this market. By working in close cooperation with our dealers, business partners and employees, we aim to offer the best possible experience to our customers and contribute to the sustainable growth of Nissan Türkiye.”
In his new role, Yao will lead Nissan Türkiye’s sustainable growth targets, customer-focused transformation efforts and further strengthen the brand’s position in the Turkish automotive market.
