Subaru Australia is strengthening its presence in top-tier motorsport, reinforcing its commitment to performance, precision and safety across both four and two wheels through an expanded partnership with Supercars, alongside the continuation of its role at the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island.

Now entering its third year, the Supercars partnership takes a major step forward in 2026, with Subaru Australia becoming the exclusive supplier of all on-track support vehicles for the 2026 and 2027 Repco Supercars Championship seasons.

Already established as the Official Course Car Vehicle, Subaru will expand its on-track responsibilities in 2026 to also include Official Safety Car Vehicle and Official Medical Vehicle duties across the championship calendar.

As part of the expanded program, the WRX AWD tS Spec B will serve as both the Shannons Safety Car and Shannons Course Car, while the all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness will be deployed as the Shannons Medical Car – showcasing Subaru’s capability across performance-focused and purpose-driven roles.

This expanded involvement reflects Subaru’s longstanding connection to motorsport and its reputation for engineering vehicles designed to perform in demanding, real-world conditions. In roles where control, consistency and dependability are critical, Subaru vehicles will support race operations throughout the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Subaru Australia’s Head of Brand, Trent Whitechurch, commented: “This partnership continues to evolve in a way that feels authentic to Subaru. Expanding our role within Supercars allows us to contribute meaningfully to the championship, particularly in areas where safety and reliability are paramount. As we enter our third year with Supercars, we’re proud to be deepening our involvement and connecting with fans at events across the 2026 season and beyond.”

Supercars Chief Revenue Officer Jamie Black said Subaru’s expanded involvement reinforces the championship’s commitment to safe, high-performance racing.

“Subaru’s expanded involvement in 2026, combined with Shannons Insurance supporting our refreshed Safety Car program, strengthens a partnership that plays a vital role in delivering safe and exciting racing,” Black said.

“With the on-track action as wild as ever, it’s essential that our Safety, Course and Medical vehicles are ready for anything throughout the 2026 season. We’re thrilled to have Subaru step into the full suite of vehicles and can’t wait to see the new WRX AWD tS Spec B and Outback Wilderness on track in Sydney.”

At the same time, Subaru Australia will return to Phillip Island for a second year at the WorldSBK Championship, with the all-electric Subaru Solterra once again serving as the Official Safety Car. Supporting officials in assessing circuit conditions prior to each session and standing ready to respond when required, Solterra will play a key role in maintaining track safety across the event weekend.

Beyond track operations, Subaru’s presence across Supercars and WorldSBK will include fan-focused activations and immersive brand experiences. Across selected Supercars rounds and at Phillip Island, dedicated hospitality and vehicle displays will give media and fans the opportunity to explore Subaru’s latest models up close. Exclusive experiences –including vehicle walk-throughs, hot laps and interactive brand activities – will showcase how Subaru’s motorsport involvement translates into real-world capability.

The renewed partnership reinforces Subaru Australia’s commitment to Australian motorsport and highlights the brand’s belief that vehicles proven in high-pressure environments help deliver confidence for drivers everywhere.
