The Nurburgring 4 Hours show
The battle wheel to wheel with Christopher Haase thrilled all the enthusiasts who, taking advantage of the evening opening hours of the MotoGP and the rest period of the Formula 1followed the live broadcast 4h of the Nurburgring Nordschleife that he saw Max Verstappen undisputed protagonist. An exciting duel that went on for the entire first hour of the race, with the Audi Haase very fast on the straight and therefore rather difficult to overtake and the Dutchman’s Mercedes extremely competitive in the more technical sections of the Green Hell. 60 minutes of spectacular, no-frills pure motorsportculminating in a rather memorable overtaking by Max just seconds before the end of the first stint of the race (video below).
And little changes, at least for those who watched the show live, if then the day didn’t exactly end in glory for the four-time world champion, given that the triumph with a minute’s lead was shattered in the stewards’ room due to the technical irregularity of the Mercedes AMG GT3 of the Verstappen.com Racing team – guilty of having used one set of tires more than allowed during the weekend (reasonably making a mistake not in the race, where all the top crews stopped three times) – which then led to the sensational disqualification from the finishing order.
Max Verstappen can try again before the 24h
THEThe good news, however, is that Verstappen could try again sooner than you might think. And that is not (only) on the occasion of the big event with the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, scheduled for the weekend of 16 and 17 May and for which the participation of the Dutch Red Bull driver has already been announced, but in April. The opportunity is offered by the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia GPs, which will give Max Verstappen the opportunity – at least theoretical, given that his plans are not known at the moment – to participate in the third race of the NLS season, the series that organizes races at the Nordschleife throughout the year: the event to keep an eye on, awaiting confirmation or denial from Max, is that of next April 11th.
