Otokar rolled off the first Mercedes-Benz Conecto city bus, produced within the scope of the cooperation between Daimler Buses and Mercedes-Benz Türk, at its factory in Sakarya. With the completion of pilot production, mass production is aimed to start in September 2026.
Otokar, one of Türkiye’s leading automotive manufacturers, reinforces its international production power with a new collaboration. The first Mercedes-Benz Conecto bus, produced within the scope of the agreement signed with Daimler Buses and Mercedes-Benz Türk last year, came off the production line with a ceremony held at the factory in Sakarya.
After the successful completion of the pilot production process, attention turned to mass production. Mass production of the new generation Conecto is planned to start in September 2026.
Strategic Step for Sakarya Factory
The fact that Conecto, one of Mercedes-Benz’s preferred models in urban transportation, will be produced in Otokar facilities is seen as an important turning point in terms of the company’s production capacity and operational efficiency.
This cooperation also once again demonstrates Otokar’s global production capability and its position as a reliable production partner for international brands.

Commenting on the first Conecto bus coming off the line, Otokar General Manager Aykut Özüner stated that the cooperation in question is of strategic importance for the company.
Özüner stated that they aim to use production capacity more effectively and strengthen their position in the global bus market and said, “We are bringing our 60 years of production experience to this important cooperation with Daimler Buses and Mercedes-Benz Türk. We will further strengthen our global manufacturer identity with mass production that will start in September 2026.”
New Move from Otokar in International Production
Otokar, one of the important players in public transportation and commercial vehicle production in Türkiye, aims to make its production base in Sakarya a more effective center on a global scale, while expanding its international business partnerships with the production of Mercedes-Benz Conecto.
