For Hamilton the new rules are positive
For a Max Verstappen nauseated by F1 2026 there is a Lewis Hamilton instead that he is ‘crazy’ about this generation of cars when it comes to duels on the track. During the Chinese GP, the Ferrari driver dueled on several occasions with his teammate Charles Leclerc, a battle defined as “grandiose” which was resolved without collisions to the amazement of George Russell.
“It’s very easy to follow the car in front closely – Hamilton explained in the press conference at the end of the Chinese GP – the situation is significantly better than in previous years. You don’t create dirty air that causes you to lose too much downforce. I think it’s the best ‘racing’ I’ve ever experienced in F1“.
“In the car it was fantastic – added Hamilton regarding the duel with Leclerc – it felt like we were on a go-kart, overtaking and counter-overtaking, we managed to position the car optimally, sometimes not a sheet of paper passed between us. This is what happens when great riders fight for each other.”
