Hyundai’s Global EV Technology Meets Turkey’s Production Power

Çok Okunanlar
Hyundai Motor Turkey continues to expand its investments and product lineup in the field of electric mobility. The brand’s highly anticipated new model, the IONIQ 3, which is manufactured at the Izmit plant, has officially gone on sale in Turkey, bringing together Hyundai’s global electric vehicle technology with the country’s production capability.

As the first fully electric model produced by Hyundai in Turkey, the IONIQ 3 marks the beginning of a new era for the brand. Playing a pivotal role in the Izmit plant’s transition to electric vehicle manufacturing, the model stands as a tangible indicator of Hyundai’s long-term investments in Turkey and the country’s strategic position in automotive manufacturing. Bringing the design, technology, and user-centric approach of the IONIQ family into the compact hatchback segment, the IONIQ 3 meets diverse expectations with its ease of urban use, range options suitable for long journeys, and spacious interior.

Efficiency and Spaciousness Combined with “Aero Hatch” Design
The IONIQ 3 combines Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language with a new “Aero Hatch” body form. Inspired by the shaping of steel, this design approach creates a powerful appearance characterized by clean surfaces and distinct lines. Starting from the fluid front section, the roofline extends to provide ample headroom for passengers and slopes gently toward the rear spoiler to create a dynamic silhouette. A drag coefficient of approximately 0.263 Cd supports the model’s aerodynamic efficiency. The pixel light signatures unique to the IONIQ family and the four-dot detail symbolizing the letter “H” in Morse code complete the model’s design identity. Meanwhile, the N-Line EVO variant offers a more dynamic appearance with sporty details specific to the N Line design.

Compact Dimensions, Large Living Space
The IONIQ 3 measures 4,155 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height. While the length reaches 4,170 mm in the N Line body style, the 2,680 mm wheelbase and flat-floor architecture create a spacious living area for both front and rear passengers. Designed with a “Living Space” approach, the cabin is arranged to give everyday spaces a warm and welcoming feel. As a B-segment car, the IONIQ 3 offers users an interior volume close to that of a C-segment vehicle. The open center console and versatile storage options allow users to easily organize their personal items. The total trunk capacity of 441 liters answers various needs ranging from family use to weekend trips. Included in this volume is a 119-liter Megabox additional storage compartment under the trunk floor, which ensures a more efficient use of the cargo area.
Two Batteries, Four Equipment Levels
Offered in Turkey with four equipment levels—Select, Trend, Prime, and N-Line EVO—the IONIQ 3 allows users to choose according to their needs with two different battery and motor options.
• The Select trim features a 42.2 kWh LFP battery, offering a combined range of 343 km. The electric motor in this version produces a maximum power of 107.8 kW (146.5 PS).
• The Trend, Prime, and N-Line EVO trims are equipped with a 61 kWh NMC battery paired with an electric motor generating a maximum power of 99.5 kW (135.2 PS). The combined range figures are offered as 482 km for the Trend, 476 km for the Prime, and 435 km for the N-Line EVO.
Charging Technologies Suited for Daily Use
Developed on the superior technology of the Hyundai Motor Group, the IONIQ 3 combines efficiency and charging performance with its 400-volt electrical architecture.
Under optimum conditions at compatible DC fast-charging stations, the battery state of charge can be raised from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes for the 42.2 kWh battery version, and about 30 minutes for the 61 kWh battery versions. In addition to 11 kW AC charging, the model family also includes an AC charging option of up to 22 kW.
Next-Generation Digital Experience with Pleos Connect
The IONIQ 3 stands out as the first Hyundai model to offer the Pleos Connect infotainment system in Europe. Based on Android Automotive OS (AAOS), the system provides an intuitive interface that offers easy access to vehicle functions, navigation, and personalization settings.
While the model lineup features 12.9-inch and 14.6-inch screen options, essential driving information can be tracked via a separate digital instrument cluster placed right in the driver’s line of sight. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support completes the smartphone connectivity.
Hyundai Digital Key 2 enables vehicle access and digital key sharing with compatible smartphones. Additionally, the integrated EV route planner helps plan charging stops during journeys. The availability of these features varies depending on the equipment level and service scope.
Vehicle Energy Transformed into Daily Life with V2L
The IONIQ 3’s V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology allows the energy from the high-voltage battery to be used to power compatible electrical devices. The interior and exterior V2L solutions, offered depending on the equipment level, provide versatile usage opportunities for devices such as laptops, electric bicycles, and camping gear.
