Duels with teams such as Ferrari and McLaren which, as the Briton admitted to Sky Sport after the race, turned out to be unexpected for Russell, who for this reason lost the chance to finish at least in third place: “Yes, it was a bit of a surprise, but I think that if I had managed to hold third place on the first lap I would have managed to get to third place. The others managed to exploit the battles a bit, but I think that in terms of race pace we will have a little more.”
