Kia Brings Youth to the Center of the World Cup

Kia announced the “49th Team” project, which is the new step of the “Inspiration Connects Us All” global campaign implemented within the scope of FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Shaped around the brand’s Official Match Ball Carriers (OMBC) program, the project aims to bring the unifying power of football to the field through young generations.

Another Symbolic Team for FIFA’s 48 Teams
The “49th Team” announced by Kia is a symbolic addition to the 48 official teams that will compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

The project brings together young people from different cultures around a common passion for football, while highlighting the themes of unity, inclusion and inspiration.
With this initiative, Kia emphasizes that football is not only a sports organization, but also a powerful platform that brings people together.
104 Children Will Experience the World Cup Atmosphere
Within the scope of the Official Match Ball Carriers (OMBC) program, which is at the center of the project, children to be selected from different countries of the world will take to the field to deliver the official match ball to the referees before the match.
A total of 104 children between the ages of 10-14 are planned to experience this experience during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
In addition to providing young participants with an unforgettable experience, the program also aims to contribute to the development of values ​​such as self-confidence, team spirit, discipline and leadership.
“Inspiration Unites Us All” Message
The “Inspiration Connects Us All” approach, which forms the basis of Kia’s campaign, finds a concrete response with the “49th Team” project.
The project, which was first announced last year with a symbolic draw organization, will enable young people from different countries to share a common excitement on the World Cup stage.
Thus, “Team 49” becomes the symbol of a global community that does not take part in the tournament but represents the unifying spirit of football.
Thierry Henry Also Takes Part in the Project
Within the scope of the campaign, special content is being prepared, including Kia’s FIFA World Cup ambassador Thierry Henry.
