What the Commissioners checked As always, among the first official documents issued by the FIA in conjunction with the start of a new race weekend there is also the one relating to the in-depth technical checks that are carried out on a car drawn by lot. In Miami the FIA’s attention was focused on Carlos Sainz’s Williams FW48, who finished ninth ahead of his teammate Alexander Albon. The Stewards thoroughly checked the active aerodynamics of the front wing and the functioning of all the sensors that transmit data to the FIA in real time via the control unit. All the components subjected to verification were found to comply with the technical and sporting regulations.
