Hamilton positive After the first three races, Lewis Hamilton arrived in Miami determined to continue along the lines of his encouraging start to the championship: “Everyone has had the chance to think back to what has happened so far and everyone has been able to work on their respective cars, to perfect them. I feel energized. I’ve been in the simulator practically every week and I’ve been in the factory practically every week. I’ve done a lot of training and preparation. Analyzing the last race again, I was of the opinion that we had difficulties with the power, but it wasn’t the engine, more a combination of things that made me lose 8-9 tenths per lap. We understood what those things were and we resolved them. It will then be interesting to see what difference the changes to the regulations will make.” Ferrari engine sore point As is known, Ferrari has to catch up on the engine side and to give a boost in this sense it will have to wait for the assignment of the ADUO. Hamilton also spoke about this aspect on Thursday in Miami: “I’m grateful for all the hard work done, I could see with my own eyes how hard the team worked on the updates. I think there is a power gap compared to Mercedes and probably also to Ford (Red Bull, ed.). To close this gap requires double the development of the others and it will be a difficult task. If a team gains a tenth, we will have to gain two. If they gain two, we will have to gain three or four. It’s really a lot, but we have to keep pushing to be able to make up for the deficit on the engine front at some point”, concluded the Englishman from Ferrari.
