Analysis of 70,000 connected European tractors shows that this figure rises to 90% when a 45-minute fast charge is performed during the driver’s mandatory rest. The series consists of three versions: E-Tech T 780, which offers 660 km and 27 tons of carrying capacity in 6×2 configuration; E-Tech T 585 with a capacity of up to 500 km and 28 tons; and the E-Tech T 540 for regional distribution of 450 km and 25 tonnes. The batteries are guaranteed for six years or 720,000 km as standard, which can be extended to up to 10 years. “Range has long been perceived as the main obstacle to the electrification of road transport. Operational data now shows that electric trucks can fully meet real-world transport requirements,” said Emmanuel Duperray, Senior Vice President Electromobility at Renault Trucks, in a statement. The data is based on 3,500 Renault Trucks electric vehicles that have collectively traveled more than 130 million km. Nickel, cobalt and aluminum battery optimization enabled range increase by extending the operating window to up to 95% of available capacity. Duperray added: “The technological hurdles associated with the vehicle itself have now been overcome.
