7 May 2026 | Melbourne, Australia – Repco has joined the full-scale search for the next Hot Wheels Legend, which is now underway.
Australasia’s leading supplier of automotive parts and accessories has partnered with the famous model car brand as the naming rights partner for the Australia / New Zealand leg of its 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour.
The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is a global search for a life-size custom car that’s worthy of being reimagined into a 1:64-scale die-cast model to join the Hot Wheels range.
This popular annual event celebrates the passionate car builders and visionaries who devote tens of thousands of hours to creating their dream customised cars.
“Repco is thrilled to join the hunt for the next custom car to be immortalised by Hot Wheels,” said Wayne Bryant, Chief Merchandise and Growth Officer at Repco
“So many car lovers grew up with Hot Wheels, and this is a great chance for local custom car communities to be part of an event that celebrates creating the one-of-a-kind cars we all love.”
The 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour will make 25 stops around the world, including – for the first time with live events – both Australia and New Zealand.
Local entries are now open, and close 31 May 2026. The judging process will then follow and a single winner from Australia and New Zealand will enter the Tour’s global finale, which will be held in November.
The single winning car from the global finale will be inducted into the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends and become an authentic Hot Wheels 1:64 die-cast model to be sold around the world.
The competition’s judging process considers several factors, including authenticity, creativity and garage spirit.
Among the six legends on the ANZ judging panel will be Repco ambassador, Gary Reid.
Fans should mark their calendars for the Hot Wheels Legends Tour live event, which will take place in Sydney on Sunday 30 August 2026.
Custom car owners and builders across Australia and New Zealand are invited to enter the ANZ leg of the 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour.
