The Kia PV5 has won the ‘Van to Watch’ award at the Company Car & Van Awards, announced today, 19 January 2026.
Kia’s first dedicated electric ‘Platform Beyond Vehicle’, the PV5 has won this prestigious award with judges praising both its design and affordability. The ‘Van to Watch’ award recognises the PV5’s potential to disrupt the commercial vehicle market.
Andrew Walker, Editor, Company Car & Van, said: “Clever Kia has launched a small electric van into a sector that’s completely new to them and it would seem to have hit it out of the park. Cute looks, a clever interior, competitive load space and a decent driving range tick all the right boxes. Most importantly, it’s attractively priced which is where we believe it has an advantage. The ‘Van to Watch’ this year is the Kia PV5.”
Paul Philpott, President & CEO, Kia UK Limited commented: “Winning ‘Van to Watch’ at the Company Car & Van Awards further builds on the tremendous start we’ve already enjoyed with PV5 and helps reflect its great potential in the commercial vehicle market. We are delighted to see high demand for all variants of the PV5 since pre-orders began at the CV show in April last year, and, since the end of 2025, we have been proud to deliver the first examples to customers.”
The Kia PV5 Cargo
The Kia PV5 Cargo sets high standards for performance, capability and flexibility offered in the UK with two trim levels: entry-level ‘Essential’ and range-topping ‘Plus’ with the choice of a Standard Range 51.5kWh or Long Range 71.2kWh battery pack.
The PV5 is the first of Kia’s PBVs to hit the UK market and is Kia’s first step on its journey to become a leader in the electric-Light Commercial Vehicle market, as it has in the passenger car market.
Off to a strong start, the Kia PV5 Cargo has already been named ‘2026 International Van of the Year’ and holds a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the longest distance travelled by an electric van on a single charge with a full payload, travelling 430.84 miles (693.38km) at its maximum Gross Vehicle Weight of 2,650kg.
All variants of PV5 are keenly priced, with the PV5 Cargo starting from £27,645 (+VAT) and further benefiting from the Government’s Plug-in Van Grant reducing the cost by £5,000.
Every PV5 comes as standard with Kia’s industry leading seven-year/100,000-mile warranty (eight years for the high-voltage battery pack).
Further PV5 variants will arrive this year, including larger and smaller PV5 Cargo configurations. Down the line, Kia has no intention of slowing down, with the PV7 arriving in 2027 and the PV9 in 2029.
The Kia PV5 is available to order now in both Cargo and Passenger form from Kia’s brand-new PBV Centre network.
