Volvo Car USA today reported sales of 31,395 cars for the second quarter of the year, up 4.4 percent over the same period last year. Electrified models — those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain — decreased 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year and accounted for 31.7 percent of sales during the second quarter of the year.
The Volvo Car Americas region saw 40,675 cars sold during the second quarter of the year. Sales of electrified models accounted for 40.8 percent of sales across the region in the second quarter of the year.
