Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 electric crossovers updated for UK market

Volkswagen has refreshed the ID.4 and ID.5 electric crossovers for the UK, offering larger batteries, increased power, and new tech like bidirectional charging.
Volkswagen has unveiled updated versions of its ID.4 and ID.5 electric crossovers for the UK market. The refresh brings changes to batteries, power, and equipment, though these improvements come with some downsides.The base ID.4 models now feature larger battery packs, increasing from 52 to 58 kWh, while power jumps from 170 to 190 hp. This boosts the range from 357 to 426 km, all without a price increase. However, the more expensive versions with the 79 kWh battery retain their previous power output but now cost £570 (€655.5) more.All-wheel-drive variants see a power boost to 299 hp and an extended range, but they too have become pricier. The top-spec GTX model loses its larger battery option, yet it manages a slight improvement in driving distance.The ID.5 follows a similar pattern. Base versions gain more power and range, while higher-end models see price hikes. In terms of features, both models now include bidirectional charging capability, an updated multimedia system, and the welcome return of physical buttons on the steering wheel.These updated Volkswagen city EVs also come with faster wireless smartphone charging and enhanced driver-assistance systems.
