With up to 604 litres of luggage space, the K4 Sportswagon offers outstanding interior space and everyday practicality
Wagon proportions and a 2,720-millimetre wheelbase ensure C- and D-segment coverage, placing a stronger focus on usability
‘Opposites United’ design philosophy reinterpreted for a distinctive, tech-focused wagon with a longer, more functional silhouette
Available with a variety of petrol and electrified powertrains, the model supports customers transitioning to electrification

Kia expands the K4 nameplate in Europe with the introduction of the Kia K4 Sportswagon. The model is designed to combine dynamic styling with everyday practicality. Positioned between the C- and D-segments, the K4 Sportswagon is aimed at customers who require more space and flexibility combined with a dynamic and distinctive design.
‘Opposites United’ design for a wagonThe exterior design interprets Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy as a longer, more functional silhouette. At 4,695 millimetres long, the model is tailored to the wagon body style. Clean horizontal lines emphasise width and stability, while Kia’s Star Map Signature Lighting and distinctive inverted L-shaped LED rear lights ensure a strong visual identity.
Distinctive design elements, such as hidden rear door handles, a unique C-pillar graphic, and a dynamically sculpted rear, achieve a balance between sportiness and practicality. The result is a wagon that boasts an assertive road presence while still offering everyday functionality.
The ‘GT-Line’ variant of the K4 Sportswagon elevates its dynamic character with an exclusive high-gloss black beltline, complemented by matching high-gloss black wheel arch claddings for a sleek, premium finish.
Distinctive ‘GT-Line’ front and rear bumpers deliver a sportier, more expressive stance, creating a bold visual impact that exudes confidence and excitement. Inside, the ‘GT-Line’ offers a unique cabin experience, featuring differentiated colours and refined materials that underscore its sophisticated yet athletic personality.
Every detail is designed to deliver a truly striking and premium impression, making the ‘GT-Line’ a standout choice for those who demand style and substance.
High-tech interior for top comfortInside, the K4 Sportswagon carries over the tech-forward cabin concept of the K4 line-up. Its panoramic display integrates a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, supported by Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC).
Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto are standard across all trims, with a wireless phone charger available in higher trims. Comfort is enhanced with optional heated and ventilated front seats wrapped in stylish, black bio-based artificial leather upholstery. An available Harman Kardon® premium audio system offers an elevated in-car sound experience.
The Digital Key 2.0 with ultra-wideband technology allows compatible smartphones to function as virtual keys. At the same time, Kia Connect services offer a range of digital tools, such as over-the-air (OTA) updates, music streaming, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. With its AI-powered voice assistant, drivers can simply say “Hey Kia” to control various features or get information, including help with the owner’s manual or local recommendations.
For entertainment and personalisation, Kia Connect also enables access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube, transforming every journey into a connected experience.
Usability for daily lifeWith its extended body and wagon-specific proportions, the K4 Sportswagon places a strong focus on usability. The luggage compartment offers up to 604 litres of cargo capacity, 166 litres more than the hatchback, which positions the model alongside upper-segment competitors in the wagon market.
A wheelbase of 2,720 millimetres creates generous rear legroom and an efficient interior layout. This makes the K4 Sportwagon well-suited for families, leisure activities, and longer trips.
On top of this, a wagon-exclusive feature is the power tailgate opening. This allows hands-free convenience, making loading and unloading easier.
“With the K4 Sportswagon, we are extending the appeal of the K4 to customers who value space and versatility as much as they are interested in design and technology,” said Sjoerd Knipping, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Europe. “By offering this wagon, we continue to show our ambition to provide practical solutions without compromising on innovation.”
Comprehensive safety and driver assistanceThe K4 Sportswagon places a strong emphasis on occupant safety, reflected in its comprehensive range of available Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Upon engaging the turn signal, the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM) displays a live video of the blind spots on the instrument cluster. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) complements this by using rear bumper radar sensors to detect vehicles in adjacent lanes, helping reduce the risk of collisions during lane changes.
Smart Cruise Control 2 (SCC2) can adjust the speed automatically and safely bring the car to a stop in emergencies. Highway Driving Assist 2.0 (HDA 2.0) supports the driver by maintaining a safe following distance, keeping centred in the lane, assisting with lane changes, and fine-tuning lateral positioning.
When backing out of parking spaces, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) monitors approaching traffic from both sides behind the vehicle. The system issues visual and audible alerts and can apply the brakes to help avoid a collision. Additionally, the Surround View Monitor (SVM) uses multiple exterior cameras to generate a full 360-degree view of the vehicle on the infotainment screen.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA2) utilises front-facing cameras and radar sensors to detect potential hazards, such as vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, to help prevent or minimise frontal collisions.
Powertrains supporting the transition to electrificationThe K4 Sportswagon is offered with a range of petrol and electrified powertrains. This reflects Kia’s approach to the transition toward electrification, supporting customers at whichever stage along the way.
The powertrain offering starts with a 1.0 T-GDI petrol engine (115 PS) with a six-speed manual transmission. This engine is also available with mild-hybrid technology. Customers who opt for the mild-hybrid engine can pair it with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission instead. The 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (150/180 PS). Later in 2026, the powertrain line-up will be expanded to include a full hybrid option.
“The wagon body style allows the K4 to compete beyond the traditional C-segment,” said Pablo Martínez Masip, Vice President of Product & Marketing at Kia Europe. “Its generous luggage capacity and advanced technology make it a compelling option for customers considering larger vehicles.”
Kia’s production excellence continues in Mexico since 2016The K4 is being produced at Kia Mexico (KMMX) in Pesquería, Nuevo León, Kia’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Latin America. The company had allocated $150 million to adapt and expand the site for K4 production in 2023 to make sure the model benefits from the highest levels of efficiency and precision.
Since it opened its doors in September 2016, the plant has become a cornerstone of the company’s global manufacturing network, with an annual capacity of up to 400,000 units, including the subcompact K3*, and exports to more than 190 countries.
KMMX is outfitted with advanced automation, including a fully robotised body shop and eco-friendly technologies like a closed-loop water treatment system, setting high standards for quality and sustainability. In 2024, the plant celebrated a milestone with its two millionth vehicle rolling off the line: a K4 in Snow White Pearl.
