Tesla launches a promotion for Model 3 Premium and Performance orders in the US, offering one year of free Supercharger access. Save up to $1,200 in charging costs.
Tesla previously used its free Supercharger program to encourage sales of its expensive vehicles, like the Model S and Model X. But those cars are phasing out of the lineup, so the company decided it would be more beneficial to apply the program to a different model.In North America, Tesla has launched an attractive promotion aimed at boosting Model 3 sales. Buyers of the Model 3 Premium (with extended range) and Performance versions in the US who placed an order on April 24 or later will get one year of free Supercharger access.This deal applies only to new Model 3s and excludes other trims, such as the base rear-wheel-drive model.For potential EV buyers, the savings can be significant. Depending on driving habits, a typical Model 3 owner might cover between 19,000 and 24,000 kilometers annually. With average supercharging costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per kilowatt-hour, the yearly savings could range from $800 to $1,200.
