Playing a pioneering role in electric transformation, PEUGEOT’s new model 408 with fastback design, which draws attention with its SUV codes, design and innovative approach in the C segment, and the 2008 models, which are at the top of the list of best-selling models in both Europe and Türkiye’s B-SUV segment, hit the roads with eDCS6 engine options with 48V hybrid technology. While both models have Allure and GT hardware packages, 1.2 Hybrid 145hp engine and 6-speed eDCS6 automatic transmission combination, the 408 1.2 Hybrid 145hp eDCS6 is offered at prices starting from 2,290,000 TL, and the 2008 1.2 Hybrid 145hp eDCS6 model is offered at prices starting from 2,238,000 TL. With its battery charging while driving, this technology provides extra torque at low engine speeds and reduces fuel consumption. Thus, models equipped with a hybrid system can spend some of their driving time in 0-emission electric mode during urban driving.

PEUGEOT, one of the world’s most established automobile brands, continues to diversify the engine options it offers in its product range before the new year. In this context, PEUGEOT launched the hybrid engine versions of the 408, which stands out with its SUV-coded dynamic silhouette and perfect fastback design, and the 2008, which is one of the most preferred models in the B-SUV segment. The new PEUGEOT 2008 1.2 Hybrid 145hp eDCS6 meets consumers with a price starting from 2,238,000 TL with Allure and GT hardware levels, and the new 408 1.2 Hybrid 145hp eDCS6 with a price starting from 2,290 thousand TL with Allure and GT hardware options.
New electric solutions, including the new hybrid system designed by Stellantis and started to be used in many models recently, are also used in the 408 and 2008 models. PEUGEOT 48V HYBRID system consists of a new generation 145 HP PureTech gasoline engine, an electric motor and a new 6-speed oil-cooled dual-clutch electric transmission. With its battery charging while driving, this technology provides extra torque at low engine speeds and reduces fuel consumption (starting from 115 g CO2/km in the 408 and from 113-114 g CO2/km in 2008). Thus, models equipped with a hybrid system can spend some of their driving time in 0-emission electric mode during urban driving.
Easy and Environmentally Friendly Use
In innovative technology, the driver can see energy transitions (Charge, Eco, Power) while driving via the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® instrument panel. In daily driving, internal combustion and electric motors work together or separately to optimize energy consumption. During instant acceleration, the electric motor provides additional torque to the gasoline engine at low revs. During deceleration, the gasoline engine stops and the electric motor works as a generator to charge the 48V battery. The vehicle can only move with a 100% electric motor during short distances and maneuvers in the city.
Tangible Benefits
While the hybrid system offers lower fuel consumption, it provides average fuel savings of up to approximately 1.0 lt/100 km (WLTP combined consumption) compared to a non-electric gasoline engine with similar features. The hybrid system enables fully electric driving, maneuvering (e.g. parking) and low speed when the battery charge is sufficient. With its hybrid technology, it provides 0 emissions and 100% electric driving for a portion of the driving time in urban driving. At higher speeds (up to 145 km/h), the internal combustion engine stalls when the driver takes his foot off the accelerator or slows down at a constant speed. When the driver accelerates at low revs, the electric motor provides additional torque that compensates for the turbo’s reaction time. This also prevents downshifting and provides greater driving comfort and dynamism.
