Mercedes-AMG is preparing a new generation of the GT 4-Door Coupe, which will be fully electric for the first time. The model retains the character of classic AMGs through simulated V8 operation and new dynamic control technologies. Essentially, the brand is attempting to combine zero emissions with the familiar driving emotions.The main feature of the new model is a synthetic sound system that replicates the behavior of a V8 engine. In Sport+ mode, the car simulates revs, throttle responses, and even gear shifts using paddle shifters. The company demonstrated this feature in a video.Additionally, external speakers are used to amplify the sound, making it audible not only inside the cabin but also outside. This creates the effect of a traditional sports car.The new AMG GT 4-Door is built on the AMG.EA platform and will feature up to three electric motors. Total power could reach 1,341 horsepower, placing the model in the hypercar segment among electric sedans.Advanced chassis technologies are also announced, including adaptive air suspension, active stabilization, and a torque distribution system for drifting and maximum traction.The main competitor will be the Porsche Taycan, which AMG is now targeting instead of the Panamera.
