Lincoln Aviator Debuts in China with New Grille and More Power

The Lincoln Aviator for China gets a larger grille with vertical chrome bars, redesigned bumpers, unique taillights, and a boosted twin-turbo V6. See the changes.
The Lincoln Aviator made its debut at the Beijing auto show with a distinctly different front end for the Chinese market. The grille gets a larger design with prominent vertical chrome bars, whereas the U.S. version features a black mesh pattern. Naumkin for .NewsThe headlights are shared with the U.S. version, retaining the LED “hockey stick” signatures that visually cut into the grille from both sides. The lower front bumper also gets a sportier redesign with integrated air intakes, identical between markets.Out back, the refreshed Chinese Aviator has taillights shaped like the American model’s, but with a slightly different lighting pattern. A wide connecting panel carries the brand name, placed lower than on the U.S. crossover. The exhaust outlets differ as well: the Chinese version gets twin hexagonal tips on each side, while the American one uses two ovals.The updated Lincoln Aviator for China measures 5080 mm in length, 2022 mm in width, and 1759 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3025 mm. The interior can seat either seven or six passengers, just like the American version. The second row is available as either a three-person bench or two individual captain’s chairs.© B. It’s paired with a familiar ten-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard.
