Fornaroli, another TPC with McLaren Leonardo Fornaroli brings further experience driving a Formula 1 to his baggage. The reigning F2 champion in fact completed a second test with old cars yesterday 7 April, driving the 2023 McLaren MCL60 on the Silverstone circuit. The papaya team used the forced one-month break in the Formula 1 calendar to continue its TPC testing program with its reserve driver. For the Piacenza native it was the second experience behind the wheel of a Formula 1, after the one already experienced in the March tests at Montmeló. Fornaroli completed 68 laps on the iconic British track, covering a total of 393 kilometres. The session ran smoothly and was useful work to accumulate experience and continue the growth path which, in the hopes of the class of 2004, could lead to a seat in F1 in 2027. At the end of the session, the 21-year-old expressed great satisfaction: “Silverstone is one of my favorite circuits, I thank the team for letting me ride in an F1 car again. I tried different setups, to continue to understand Formula 1 better: I can’t wait to carry out further tests during the year.”
