Chinese home appliance company Dreame has unveiled a concept electric car called the Nebula NEXT 01 Jet Edition, claiming a 0-100 km/h time of just 0.9 seconds. If confirmed, this would be an absolute record for a production vehicle.The standout feature isn’t just a powerful electric drivetrain, but the inclusion of rocket boosters. According to the developer, the system uses two solid-fuel boosters with around 100 kN of thrust each, activating in 150 milliseconds. This is designed to overcome the main limitation of modern EVs: tire traction.The Jet Edition is based on the previously shown Nebula 1, which has 1,876 horsepower. The car also comes equipped with LiDAR and autonomous driving systems—an unusual combination given its extreme acceleration focus.DreameThe project raises serious questions. Solid-fuel boosters can’t simply be turned off, and reusing them requires replacement. Moreover, using rocket fuel seems to contradict the concept of environmentally friendly transport.Nevertheless, Dreame says it plans to start production by 2027 and is even building a factory in Europe. Against the backdrop of rapid growth in the Chinese auto industry, such ambitions no longer seem entirely far-fetched.This concept is less about a production car and more about showing off capabilities and grabbing attention.
