A Journey Through the Heart and people of Italy: FIAT and Abarth Celebrate the Legacy of the Fiat 600 as 1000 Miglia 2025 Concludes in Brescia
The 43 edition of the 1000 Miglia has officially crossed the finish line in Brescia after five extraordinary days on the road. For FIAT and Abarth, it wasn’t just a trip across nearly 1,900 kilometers—it was a journey into the heart of Italy, a chance to powerfully and emotionally reconnect with the people who make it extraordinary. A brand with profound social significance and a pioneer of accessible mobility in Italy, FIAT connected with thousands of people who lined the streets, waved flags from balconies, and filled the squares with applause across more than 50 cities. After all, the 2025 1000 Miglia was more than just a race—it was a journey of rediscovery, memory, and community, a celebration of that unique bond that FIAT continues to nurture with the Italian people.
Above all, it was about the people. Wherever the caravan traveled, it was greeted by thousands of fans—families, children, enthusiasts—who transformed every kilometer into a shared experience. They didn’t just watch the race, but became an integral part of it—its true stars. With their smiles and genuine emotions, they turned the 2025 1000 Miglia into a collective celebration, where past and present came together in a living, authentic, and profoundly FIAT experience.
At the heart of this tribute was an iconic first-series 1955 Fiat 600, proudly taking part in the race with an all-female crew composed of Laura Confalonieri, Assistant Director of Ruoteclassiche, and Valentina Menassi, journalist and contributor to Il Giornale. Together, they honored both the pioneering vision of Dante Giacosa—in a year that commemorates the 120 anniversary of the designer’s birth—and the historic model that helped democratize mobility in post-war Italy.
Accompanying the vintage star across the country were the official FIAT and Abarth “Support Cars”: the Fiat 600 Hybrid and the Abarth 600e Scorpionissima. These vehicles played a key role throughout the event, supporting the historic 600 across the demanding route while symbolizing the evolution of engineering and design that has defined both brands for decades.
The Fiat 600 Hybrid brought modern comfort, sustainability, and Italian style to the support team with its advanced hybrid drivetrain, five-door layout, and spacious design. Meanwhile, the Abarth 600e paid a high-voltage tribute to Abarth’s racing DNA. With a 280-hp and 207-kW electric motor, it is the most powerful Abarth ever and proof that performance and electrification can coexist without making compromises.
The 2025 1000 Miglia once again embraced its historic format: a memorable adventure tracing a figure-eight route, just like the first twelve editions. Over 400 classic cars from 29 countries—including strong representation from Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, and the United States—took part in this modern reinterpretation of the most beautiful race in the world. Across cities large and small, an outpouring of warmth filled the streets. Applause, flags, and cheers welcomed each vehicle along the way, as the race became a five-day celebration of human connection and national pride. For FIAT and Abarth, it was a living demonstration of how cars can still bring people together—across generations, geographies, and technologies.
The journey began on June 17 in Brescia, heading through Desenzano, Sirmione, Verona, Bovolone, and Ferrara, ending the first leg in San Lazzaro di Savena, near Bologna. On day two, the cars climbed the legendary Raticosa and Futa passes, passed through Prato and Siena, and reached Rome. The return north included Orvieto, Foiano della Chiana, Arezzo, Sansepolcro, and San Marino, before wrapping up day three in Cervia. On day four, the route cut across the country from east to west, touching Forlì, Empoli, Pontedera, Livorno, and Viareggio, then crossed the Cisa Pass before finishing in Parma. On the final day, the historic caravan came to a triumphant conclusion in Brescia.
In short, FIAT and Abarth proudly paid tribute to the iconic 600 — not only by putting cutting-edge vehicles on the road, but by carrying forward a clear vision: uniting tradition and innovation, emotion and engineering, while always keeping people at the heart of the journey. This commitment was evident at every stage of the 1000 Miglia. Supported by the expert team at Stellantis Heritage, the legendary FIAT 600 completed the entire route, demonstrating its reliability, character, and timeless spirit. What might have seemed like just a race became, instead, a moving tribute to Italy’s automotive tradition. And at the center of it all was the FIAT 600—a living symbol of an extraordinary past and a future yet to be written.
