
When the swingIN Big Band opens the jazz season at the Audi museum mobile, it brings the arrangements of great jazz icons to the stage. This year’s spotlight is on Sammy Nestico. His works gave the legendary Count Basie Orchestra its distinctive sound. Between 1970 and 1984, he oversaw the recordings of ten albums, four of which won a Grammy Award. Nestico also worked with global stars like Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Phil Collins, and composed numerous soundtracks for Hollywood productions. The swingIN Big Band will interpret Nestico’s works such as “Warm Breeze” and “Night Flight” with its signature stylistic blend of openness and creativity.This will be the ensemble’s fifth September performance in the Jazz at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt series. Since 2001, the Jazz at the Audi Forum series has drawn tens of thousands of visitors to Audi’s headquarters. The company enjoys a successful collaboration with the Birdland Jazz Club Neuburg. Over the years, the Audi Forum Ingolstadt has hosted jazz greats such as the Count Basie Orchestra, Freddie Hubbard, Paul Kuhn, and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra.Tickets for the swingIN Big Band concert on September 11 at 8 p.m. at the Audi museum mobile are now available for 25 euros (20 euros reduced) from the Audi ticket shop.
