The production adventure of Fiat Egea, one of the models that left its mark on Turkish automotive history, has ended. Egea, which came off the line for the last time with the ceremony held in Tofaş’s Bursa factory, completed its approximately 11-year production process with a total production of 1 million 417 thousand 47 units. The model, which has the title of the most preferred car in Türkiye for 10 years in a row, has been among Tofaş’s most important projects with its successes in both the domestic market and exports.
Fiat Egea, developed with an investment of approximately 1 billion euros, started production in Bursa in 2015. The model, developed by Tofaş engineers from the concept stage, quickly became one of the strongest players in the Turkish automobile market thanks to its fuel economy, large living space, luggage volume and price-performance balance.

The Egea family, which started off with a sedan body type, later expanded with Hatchback, Station Wagon, Cross and Cross Wagon versions, turning into a comprehensive product range that addresses different user needs. The model, which has been regularly updated throughout its production life of more than ten years, has attracted great attention from fleets and commercial enterprises as well as individual users.
Fiat Egea also carried its production success to exports. 671 thousand 5 of the vehicles produced in the Bursa factory were exported to more than 40 countries, including the US market, under the Dodge brand. Thus, Egea became one of the most important models representing Tofaş’s global production power.
While the highest volume in the production adventure of the model was 178 thousand 587 units in 2017, an export performance of 128 thousand 623 vehicles was reached in the same year. The highest production for the Turkish market was recorded as 126 thousand 944 units in 2023.
Fiat Egea maintained its leadership in the domestic market for many years. While the model managed to be Türkiye’s best-selling car for 10 consecutive years between 2016 and 2025, it reached a total sales figure of 745 thousand 671 units from 2015 to the end of June 2026. This performance also contributed significantly to the Fiat brand becoming the leader of the Turkish automotive market for six consecutive years between 2019-2024.
More than a thousand engineers and technical personnel took part in the Egea project, which reflects Tofaş’s engineering power. While approximately 500 thousand hours of engineering work was carried out during the development process, the model was road tested for 8 million kilometers. While 171 domestic suppliers took part in production, the domestic contribution rate exceeded 62 percent in some engine options.
Tofaş CEO Cengiz Eroldu pointed out the special place of Egea in the company’s history and stated that the model will shape the future not only with its production and sales figures, but also with the engineering experience and knowledge it brings. Eroldu emphasized that the success behind Egea emerged with the efforts of thousands of Tofaş employees, especially the R&D, production, quality, logistics, purchasing, marketing and sales teams.
The last car to leave the Bursa factory was the Fiat Egea Sedan Lounge 1.6 MJet DCT 130 HP in Dynamic Blue color. Thus, the production journey of Fiat Egea, which is considered one of the most successful domestic production projects of the Turkish automotive industry, was completed with a symbolic vehicle.
As Tofaş prepares to carry the production, engineering and export experience it gained with Egea to its new generation projects, the model has taken its place among the success stories that will not be forgotten for many years in Turkish automotive history.
