Ferrari, Vigna optimistic Ferrari has started the new regulatory cycle as second force, behind Mercedes. With three podiums in the first three GPs, including Lewis Hamilton’s first for the Maranello team, the Red has at least demonstrated consistency and solidity, even if it lacks the decisive leap in quality to be a serious threat to the Brackley team. CEO Benedetto Vigna, speaking at today’s Ferrari shareholders’ meeting held today in Amsterdam, highlighted what he calls “encouraging signs” from the Australian, Chinese and Japanese GPs. Vigna’s words “With the podiums achieved in each of the first three weekends, we are seeing the first encouraging signs of our work in the new regulations”, this is Vigna’s comment. “In the world of racing, our goal remains simple: we race to win,” he added. “We are expanding our competitive arena at the seaside, while confirming our full commitment to the World Endurance Championship and Formula 1.”
