In January 2026, KIA will take a new step forward in its ambitious electrification strategy with the launch of the EV2, the smallest addition to its electric vehicle range. After unveiling the concept earlier this year, the public will finally have the opportunity to see this new car on the road. Although the Korean company revealed few details about the production version, it confirmed its participation at the Brussels Motor Show and that the model will be produced in Europe to better serve local customers. The new KIA EV2 Awaiting the debut, KIA has shared three teaser images that offer a preview of the style and design of the new EV2. The overall profile and proportions of the production version appear to maintain the innovative look of the concept, including the squared front end and curvature of the beltline. There are also details such as the rear spoiler and the sporty roof line that continue to contribute to an attractive design, much appreciated in the original model presented at Kia EV Day 2025. Design changes However, the transition from concept to production will bring with it some inevitable changes. For example, the front overhang appears longer, an aspect due to the rigorous anti-crash regulations that production cars must comply with. Furthermore, a conventional B-pillar emerges, a key feature to ensure safety and stability. KIA has promised a “spacious and adjustable space,” but details on how this will translate into everyday practicality will only be revealed on January 9, the day of the official presentation. Debut in January 2026 While technical details, such as power and battery life, remain shrouded in mystery until launch, expectations are high. Based on similar models like the Hyundai Inster, you can expect 400-volt charging, maintaining a single motor on the front wheels even in the sporty models. The launch price is estimated at around 30,000 euros.
