Nissan starts production of the 2027 INFINITI QX65 at its Smyrna, Tennessee plant, with investments in training and processes for quality assembly.
Nissan Group has reached a significant milestone with the start of production for the all-new 2027 INFINITI QX65 in the United States. The vehicle will be assembled at the company’s facility in Smyrna, Tennessee. For over four decades, the Smyrna assembly plant has played a crucial role in Nissan’s North American operations. The launch of the QX65 continues this legacy, expanding the plant’s responsibilities to include a completely new model developed during a key transformation period for INFINITI.To prepare the Smyrna plant for QX65 production, investments were made in training, tooling, and assembly processes. These efforts ensure the facility can deliver the high level of craftsmanship, precision, and consistency required for INFINITI’s latest model—from fit and finish to overall quality. The Smyrna plant, Tennessee’s first automotive assembly facility, currently builds the Nissan Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, and INFINITI QX60, and now adds the QX65 to its lineup. To date, Nissan has invested over $9.2 billion in the operation, which employs more than 6,500 people and has an annual production capacity of up to 640,000 vehicles.
