Toto’s tribute to Alex Today the world of motorsport – and Paralympic sport – has been devastated by the mourning linked to the death of Alex Zanardi. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff wanted to say important words for the Italian driver: “In the world of car racing we talk a lot about courage. Every now and then you meet someone who truly embodies this meaning. Alex Zanardi was that person. As a young driver, I admired Alex’s skills behind the wheel. His successes, especially in America, demonstrated his great talent. But what he achieved after the accident was even more inspiring. He showed that even when life tests you, you must not let yourself be defined by the events that affect you, that adversity can be overcome with humility, humor and optimism. His example will continue to inspire and remind us what true courage means.”
