Reshaped inside and out, the new Stonic debuts with a confident look inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy
The model is available in both ICE and MHEV powertrain options delivering a dynamic driving experience
Inside, drivers are welcomed by a high-tech crossover cabin featuring class-leading panoramic dual displays, a comprehensive ADAS suite, and seamless connectivity
UK specifications, pricing and line-up to be confirmed in due course

Kia has unveiled the new Kia Stonic, elevating the customer experience for compact CUVs with features from higher segments, defying conventions and redefining expectations. The model features a bold design, advanced technology and connectivity upgrades, and an updated powertrain strategy. The new Stonic represents a major overhaul of the brand’s popular urban crossover as buyers’ demand shift in this important segment.
“The new Stonic is the perfect example of how Kia brings elevated design and upper-segment technology to the mainstream market,” says Sjoerd Knipping, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Europe. “The Stonic is a stylish and smart solution for drivers across Europe who want more from their compact crossovers.”
Confident new design identityKia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy transforms the new Stonic into a bolder, more expressive crossover. This visual language blends a confident stance with a playful character. Compared to the last generation, the model mostly maintains its compact dimensions. The only exception is its length, which has been extended by 25 millimetres due to its resculpted front and rear bumpers.
Additionally, the front fascia introduces several changes, including Kia’s Star Map Signature Lighting, more prominent and structured front and lower grilles, and an updated front fender. The redesign continues through the rear, featuring a new tailgate layout, taillight signature, an updated skid plate, and a cleaner rear bumper form.
These aesthetic changes are complemented by new wheel options across the range, including 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels exclusively for the sportier ‘GT-Line’ trim. The exterior palette has been updated with two expressive colours: Adventurous Green and Yacht Blue.
Powertrain strategy for a Europe in transitionKia recognises the varying pace of electrification across Europe and responds with an adapted powertrain strategy to the continent´s diverse mobility needs. The new Stonic offers a 1.0 T-GDI petrol engine designed to cover a wide range of customer needs. Reaching 100 PS, the engine provides a solid ICE (internal combustion engine) solution. Alternatively, customers can opt for a 115 PS- mild-hybrid (MHEV) version. Both powertrains are available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
This dual-powertrain approach reinforces the model’s role as a transition vehicle that supports a range of mobility strategies across European markets.
“With the new Stonic, we have reimagined what a B-segment urban crossover can be,” says Pablo Martínez Masip, Vice President of Product & Marketing. “We’ve fused advanced tech, daring design, and smart mobility into a package that’s both accessible and aspirational.”
A reimagined interior with upper-segment influenceKia’s strategy of democratising advanced features can be observed in the interior of the new Stonic. A brand-new feature is the panoramic dual display layout. The two high-resolution 12.3-inch screens merge infotainment and vehicle information, setting a new benchmark for B-segment crossovers.
The Multimode Touch Display replaces traditional HVAC controls with a sleek interface that allows the driver to toggle between climate settings and infotainment menus with ease. The cabin also introduces new two-spoke and three-spoke steering wheel designs, a resculpted gear knob and centre console, and an updated dashboard design.
Interior enhancements, such as USB-C fast charging ports, wireless smartphone charging, and ambient lighting, provide a more refined in-car experience.
Connectivity for the digital generationThe new Stonic is a digitally fluent choice for urban drivers looking to stay connected on the go. Equipped with Kia Connect, the model offers cloud-based services and real-time vehicle diagnostics. For peace of mind, drivers can remotely monitor, control, and interact with their vehicle via the Kia App. One of the segment’s most advanced features, Digital Key, allows drivers to unlock and start the vehicle using a supported smartphone or smartwatch.
Advanced safety in a compact CUVThe new Stonic raises the bar for safety in the B-segment with an expanded suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Often reserved for larger and higher-segment vehicles, these features help position the model as a class leader in safety.
Using radar sensors in the rear bumper, Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) monitors blind spots to help prevent collisions during lane changes. The Safe Exit Warning (SEW) system warns occupants of road users approaching from the rear before opening doors.
With the help of front-facing camera and radar sensors, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 (FCA 1.5) helps mitigate or prevent collisions by detecting potential road hazards ahead. Additionally, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control relies on GPS data to automatically adjust speed before entering a bend. Finally, Highway Driving Assist (HDA) helps the driver maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and adjust lateral positioning, while Lane Following Assist (LFA) helps the driver stay centred in the lane of travel.
Ready for EuropeThe new Stonic has been designed and reengineered to specifically meet the diverse customer needs of its main market, Europe. The model combines practicality with the space and utility expected from B-segment crossovers, while remaining more accessible than most C-segment options. With its refreshed design, advanced connectivity, and refined powertrain offering, the model is leading the way forward for compact crossovers.
