One in every two companies in Türkiye gives the green light to electric vehicles

The 2026 research results of the Arval Mobility Observatory, which is carried out every year with the support of TEB Arval to evaluate the fleet operation situation managed by institutions in Türkiye and the development of mobility trends, have been announced. The research, conducted with the participation of 10,157 managers in 33 countries, reveals a broad perspective for the sector and also contains important data for the Turkish market.

The results of the Arval Mobility Observatory (AMO) Fleet and Mobility Barometer 2026 research, which is carried out every year with the support of TEB Arval, which operates under the umbrella of BNP Paribas Group and is positioned as a reliable and long-term business partner for institutions in Turkey to achieve their mobility, fleet management and operational efficiency targets, have been announced. The research, conducted with the participation of 10,157 managers in 33 countries, revealed that companies have now left the strategy development phase behind in fleet and mobility management and moved into the implementation phase. While the research results reveal that the electric vehicle transformation continues rapidly, companies turn their focus to operational efficiency, alternative mobility solutions and data-driven fleet management.

According to the research results, 54 percent of companies in Türkiye use alternative energy technologies such as battery electric vehicles (BEV), rechargeable hybrid vehicles (PHEV) or hybrid vehicles (HEV) or plan to use them in the next three years. 27 percent of companies in Türkiye have at least 1 electric vehicle in their fleet. The proportion of electric vehicles in passenger vehicle fleets is expected to reach 12 percent in the next three years.

The research results reveal that there is a strong will for the use of electric vehicles in Türkiye, but topics such as charging infrastructure and operational efficiency will be decisive in the success of the transformation.

However, the understanding of mobility is also changing. Instead of just offering vehicles to their employees, companies are turning to developing more flexible, more sustainable and more inclusive transportation solutions. The critical threshold for electric vehicles: Charging infrastructure

Despite significant progress in electrification, companies continue to face some structural barriers, according to the research. The rate of companies stating that one of the obstacles to the use of electric vehicles in Türkiye is charging points is 68%. Despite this, all of the companies participating in the research are implementing or planning to implement at least one charging policy. In the research, electric vehicles stand out as one of the important tools that support companies’ environmental responsibilities and accelerate the mobility transformation. Among the reasons for companies to switch to electric vehicles: Achieving sustainability goals, reducing carbon emissions and being prepared for the mobility needs of the future are among the important factors. According to the research, for the majority of companies, electrification is no longer a short-term choice, but draws attention as one of the basic elements of long-term transformation strategies.

Data regarding the second-hand vehicle market also attracts attention in the research. While 31 percent of companies in Türkiye use second-hand vehicles in their fleets, 44 percent plan to include second-hand vehicles in their fleets in the next three years. Additionally, 27 percent of companies prefer or are considering operational leasing in second-hand vehicle financing.

Interest in data-driven fleet management is increasing

Research results show that companies’ need for data-based solutions and expert support in fleet management is increasing. While 45 percent of fleet managers in Türkiye state that they need more support in performance management, 24 percent need consultancy support in the field of fleet optimization. Automatic vehicle performance tracking, preventive maintenance systems and real-time vehicle monitoring solutions are among the most demanded technologies. While companies are turning to data-driven management tools to manage their fleets more efficiently and improve their operational processes, solutions that provide more visibility into vehicles and operations are becoming increasingly important. Research results reveal that companies see digitalization and data-driven approach in fleet management as a strategic priority.

According to the research, transformation is also gaining momentum in the field of employee mobility. 91 percent of companies in Türkiye are implementing or preparing to implement at least one mobility policy or solution. As car sharing, mobility budgets and public transport supports are increasingly preferred, companies see these solutions as a strategic tool not only for operational efficiency but also for employee satisfaction and talent attraction.
