Stellantis will produce three new Peugeot models in Mulhouse

Automobile manufacturer Stellantis has announced that it will invest over a billion euros in France to produce three new electric and hybrid Peugeot models based on the new STLA One platform at its Mulhouse plant (68) from 2029. Following Emmanuel Macron’s preliminary statement, today it is Stellantis’ turn to regain control of communications regarding its investments on French soil.

The automaker will therefore invest one billion euros in France. And the Mulhouse plant (68) is the main beneficiary. As stated in the manufacturer’s press release, €400 million will be allocated to the industrial site for the assembly of three new Peugeot C-segment models from 2029.

However, to learn more about the models in question, we will have to wait for the speech that Antonio Filosa will give accompanied by the Minister of Economy Roland Lescure. Stellantis’ CEO met with unions to announce the news.

500 million euros have been allocated for its new architecture, which was presented during the manufacturer’s strategic plan FaSTLAne 2030 on May 21, 2026. Because the three models will be based on the new modular STLA One platform, which is intended to accommodate both 100% electric and hybrid engines. Thus, Peugeot became the first brand to implement this new architecture, which will serve models in the B, C and D segments equally well.

Finally, approximately 100 million will be invested in local fields supplying the Mulhouse factory.

This is also good news for the Mulhouse plant, whose utilization rate has reached only 60% of its capacity. Today the facility assembles 460 vehicles a day, Peugeot 308 sedans and SWs, 408s and, on a few more days, DSs. Mulhouse produced 127,500 vehicles with two teams in 2025.
