Stellantis Premiered Alfa Romeo Tonale for Everyone on World Disability Day! Mobility Solutions Suitable for Everyone Without Compromising on Safety and Design at Stellantis!
Stellantis, one of the world’s largest mobility companies, once again demonstrated its commitment to inclusive mobility on World Disability Day. In this context, the company supports drivers with disabilities in the use of arms and hands to increase their freedom of mobility with its innovative solution ‘Alfa Romeo Tonale for Everyone’. While the elevated and specially designed console provides easy access to the basic controls of the vehicle, including the transmission, horn, window controls, lighting, electric brake, voice commands and USB ports, the central console draws attention with its structure designed in accordance with ECE 21 crash safety standards, with rounded edges and minimum interior volume intervention.

Stellantis, one of the world’s largest mobility companies that invests in all areas of mobility, continues to touch the lives of its users. As part of World Disability Day, Stellantis once again emphasized its commitment to inclusive mobility by introducing Alfa Romeo Tonale for All, an innovative solution developed in Italy to increase the freedom of mobility of drivers with disabilities in the use of arms and hands.

Accessibility that comes with innovation!
Tonale for All reflects Stellantis’ approach towards universal accessibility; It stands out as a model that combines practical solutions, advanced engineering and user-friendly design. This special version, developed in cooperation with Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF) and Fadiel Italiana, integrates advanced solutions that offer safe and confident driving to individuals with limited arm and hand functions. Tonale for Everyone stands out with the following features:
Pedal Guidance System (DGS03): Thanks to the dual-motor electromechanical structure, drivers can control the steering wheel via pedals. The system architecture is designed to be fully redundant (motors, batteries and control units) and is supported by a TFT screen that provides continuous status monitoring.
Ergonomic center console: The elevated and specially designed console, produced with the additive manufacturing method, provides easy access to the basic controls of the vehicle, including the transmission, horn, window controls, lighting, electric brake, voice commands and USB ports. The layout and component placement have been optimized for accessibility, comfort and ease of use.
Safety and certification:The central console was designed to comply with ECE 21 crash safety standards, taking into account rounded edges and minimal interior volume intrusion. Tonale for All was homologated with the status of “unique example” by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
A practical reflection of inclusivity!
Tonale for All demonstrates concretely how technical innovations can expand independence and freedom of movement. The solutions developed within the scope of this project can be adapted to other models in the Stellantis portfolio and customized to individual needs in accordance with local medical commission requirements and regulations. Tonale for All further advances Stellantis’ commitment to inclusive mobility, building on the “Citroen Ami for All” project born in 2020 within the scope of Citroën’s internal startup accelerator program Star*up, which supports Stellantis’ innovative employee ideas. Developed in collaboration with PIMAS, Citroen Ami for All offers an accessible, practical and independent mobility solution, especially for wheelchair users. The compact electric vehicle provides easy access into the vehicle, adapted driving controls and safe transportation of the wheelchair, providing freedom of movement, social participation and independence in daily life.
30 years of experience in inclusive mobility!
Launched in 1995, the Stellantis Autonomy Program has been making significant progress in the field of inclusive mobility for 30 years and today operates 14 Mobility Centers across Italy. These centers; It offers personalized consultancy on driving assessments, psychological and motor skills tests and technical adaptations, and helps more than 1,000 people achieve independent mobility every year. The program covers all Stellantis brands; It aims to make mobility accessible to everyone by combining product development, research in ergonomics and safety, and personalized services.
DriveAbility Program and commitment to inclusive mobility!
As the first automaker to enter the U.S. mobility market, Stellantis has launched the DriveAbility Program, which offers vehicles suitable for adaptive modifications to enhance the daily driving experience. Aiming to provide a pleasant experience throughout the entire process, from the moment of getting in the vehicle to starting to drive, the program offers various equipment options for acceleration, braking, gear shifting and steering control. The program focuses on developing the best solutions by collaborating with adaptive equipment manufacturers across the country, supporting drivers to remain active, independent and mobile. Through its Autonomy and DriveAbility programs, Stellantis supports the freedom and independence experience of individuals with motor, sensory or mental limitations across its entire vehicle portfolio. Building on the Citroen Ami for All programme, projects such as Tonale for All once again demonstrate Stellantis’ ongoing mission: to deliver mobility solutions that work for everyone, without compromising on safety, performance and design.
